I can confirm that the video isn't available in the UK. I am actually meant to be doing the demo this thursday so I was hoping the video might make it here. If not I was planning on emphasizing the type/antitype nature of the chart (without using those terms of course) and generally making it seem as silly as I can get away with.

This weeks service meeting! More craziness.....
by stuckinarut2 inso this weeks service meeting is so full of "crazy".
a whole 15 min part devoted to trying to indoctrinate everyone on how to "explain our beliefs on 1914".
then another 15 min part called "a tool to help us explain our beliefs about 1914".

UK KH projection equipment
by Saltheart Foamfollower inas everyone knows, there have been major changes in kh financing recently.
this means that congs should only have funds equal to 3 months expenditure on hand - send the rest to the borg.
in the uk there has also been an appeal to send extra funds to finance the new bethel (if we are going to print our own literature and show videos on the doors, why do they need a new bethel?).

Sorry I cant work out how to copy & paste the letter. The projector is identified as "high-quality competitively-priced Panasonic video projectors" with the projector alone costing £820. The total cost of all equipment is £1,120. They will be obtained through the supplier arrangement section of the website. I should also say that it isn't UK only - Ireland is also included.

Now there is a letter (to elders - they don't want it read out) about projection equipment which "encourages" us to place an order promptly. The cost is over £1000 but the funds and installation costs have to be raised locally. I suggest as many publishers as possible are made aware of what is happening.

KIngdom Hall & Assembly Hall fund - anyone claimed from it?
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthe fund has been in operation for 2 or 3 months now, so i wondered if anyone has heard of any congregations that have tried or succeeded in making claims or getting funding for projects.
or, as we all suspect, is it like the kh assistance arrangement where if you try to make a claim you are "encouraged" to raise the funds locally.. .

They are saying that this will decide the issue for a generation. Does this mean that every snp member who has met Alex Salmond or Nichola Strurgeon has to die before another referendum??

Thanks rory ks. My anticipation level has now risen to apathetic. I'll let you know when our co has been if there is anything worth noting from e/ms meeting.

Anyone tried to get an appointment through with the c/o doing the appointing? I've got a visit coming up soon, though our c/o was removed recently so nobody seems to know what's going on anyway (snafu). I'll let you know if I see anything interesting. I've heard they are reviewing cong teaching at the bs (and isn't that abreviation perfect) during the first visit where the bs isn't happening. jw.org logic at it's best.

Sept 1 service meeting mystery revealed
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthe letter has appeared at last - just for uk.
it is a money grab for the new bethel which has been approved.
there is a video to be shown - just watched it - brief summary of uk bethels, why current one is too small, why we need money to build a new one.

Another aspect of this is that congs have been given very little notice (next tues for many) that they will need to be able to show a video to the cong. COs have shown videos recently but bring their own equipment. They don't care about the expense and difficulty that this will cause many (who of course will say that they are "happy" to do it for the org)
factfinder - I've saved a copy of the video but I don't know how to convert it or post it without it being traced back to me. Maybe after it's been shown?

The message in the video is that they want to count the cost to see if they can afford to build. My thinking is that either I put zero and if others do the same, they'll not be able to build. Or I put a large figure which they wont get and they'll keep badgering the congs. As long as enough of us agree to do the same thing, it should cause some disruption.

Hi all. The letter has appeared at last - just for UK. It is a money grab for the new Bethel which has been approved. There is a video to be shown - just watched it - brief summary of UK bethels, why current one is too small, why we need money to build a new one. This will be followed by a letter being read asking for slips to be filled in to show how much extra everyone will donate. My question is - do I fill in zero or a large sum? I will of course be sending nothing, I just wondered which would cause the most disruption if we all did the same.
BTW Stephen Hardy looks v uncomfortable in the video.
